On 4 March 2026, Ambassador Hideaki MATSUO paid an inaugural courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Yemane G. Meskel, Minister of Information.
Ambassador Matsuo stated that he would strive to make more Japanese citizens aware of Eritrea's charms and work to further strengthen bilateral relations.
